HGV Technician

Pay range £38,000 - £50,000

We have a vacancy for a skilled & experienced HGV Technician to join our friendly team at our modern well-equipped workshop in Kilmington, Wiltshire.  This is a full-time permanent position and is a great opportunity to work for a forward-thinking company that looks after their employees and offers a competitive salary, designed to exceed the local industry standard for the right candidate.

Some of the activities you will be involved in will include but may not be limited to:

  • Interpret instructions from the job card/repair order and comply with repair instructions.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on HGVs using the latest diagnostic equipment and techniques.
  • Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for MOT.
  • Periodic maintenance inspections, defect report and rectification.
  • Attend training and keep abreast of the latest technical information to ensure product and service knowledge is up to date.
  • Accurately report and record work done and tests carried out, including immediately reporting any further work required or vehicle faults/defects.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Enhance the image and reputation of the company whilst supporting its commercial interests.

 Working package

  • Basic rate of pay will be based on a 40-hour week.
  • We can offer various shift options and durations between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 Monday – Friday & between 07:00 and 12:00 on Saturday for the right candidate.
  • You may be required to work such additional hours in excess of your normal hours of work as are reasonably necessary for the proper performance of your duties and to meet the needs of the Company's business.
  • All overtime after 40 hours pw paid X 1.5
  • Auto enrolment on company pension scheme

The working package for this position is subject to negotiation with the successful candidate and will be based upon experience, ability and productivity and will be regularly reviewed

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience working as an HGV Technician
  • Diagnostic experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Not essential but ideally you will have a Class 2 driving license.
